National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 directed the Small Business Administration (SBA) to create a Governmentwide certification program for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. Effective January 1, 2023, SBA assumed responsibility for certifying Veteran-Owned small firms. If you have questions, please contact SBA at vetcert@sba.gov or 800-862-8088. Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. EST to speak to an SBA representative about the Veteran certification program or visit Veteran Small Business Certification.

VetBizLady Office Hours

Please join us for the Women Veteran-Owned Small Business Initiative for "VetBizLady Office Hours Networking Sessions" every Tuesday at noon to discuss business questions, such as:

  • Understanding government contracting
  • How to do business with the VA
  • Getting "procurement ready"
  • Networking relationships
  • Sales and business model
  • Building your business brand
  • Teaming and partnering for success
  • Connecting/ Networking with your Women Veteran Business Community
  • Share your successes
  • All questions welcome!

These sessions are to network with other women-owned businesses, female military spouses, and women Veteran-owned businesses in all stages, learn, share knowledge, connect, and ask questions with the community of Women-Owned Small Businesses like yourself.


These weekly sessions provide WVOSBs interested in doing business with Federal agencies and private corporations with resources that promote access to economic opportunities. It also provides a forum with open discussions, breakout groups, and mentor feedback. The "one room classroom" forma adds value to entrepreneurs without regard to where they may be in their business journey. 


This initiative supports the President's Executive Order 13985 and the VA Equity Action Plan to advance racial equity and support for underserved communities. Join the Woman Veteran Owned Small Business Initiative (WVOSBI) every Tuesday for weekly sessions to empower, educate, and provide a safe place amongst your peers to ask questions that will prepare you for success!
