The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 directed the Small Business Administration (SBA) to create a Governmentwide certification program for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. Effective January 1, 2023, SBA assumed responsibility for certifying Veteran-Owned small firms. If you have questions, please contact SBA at vetcert@sba.gov . This is the 10th engagement hosted by VA OSDBU. The theme for this year’s event is Building Access. Dismantling Barriers. The NVSBE allows Program Offices and Procurement Decision Makers (PDM) to conduct immersive market research. PDM and other VA procurement influencers tangibly demonstrate commitment to helping Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and underserved firms achieve economic well-being. The interactions occurring at the NVSBE help entrepreneurs gain access to PDMs while concurrently dismantling barriers like insight into forecasted procurement opportunities. The briefings and conversations conducted at NVSBE shall remain within the bounds of legal and ethical guidelines.
