About Verizon

Verizon works with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and partners to help achieve the VA’s mission. Our commitment to the VA includes Mobile Device Management, our investments in CRADAs like Project CONVERGENCE for the VA Innovation Ecosystem and Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning (OHIL), and support for telehealth and remote patient monitoring.

Verizon operates the nation’s most reliable 4G and 5G networks. In 2022, we were named #1 in network quality for the 28th time by industry analyst J.D. Power. Verizon helped Palo Alto Medical Center become the first fully enabled 5G hospital in the country.   The new network enables advanced clinical capabilities, including augmented reality-assisted presurgical guidance with 3D X-ray vision and CT scans superimposed on patients' bodies to chart a surgical path for physicians, VR-assisted medical learning through which surgeons and medical interns can walk into 3D models of human organs, and holographic projections in patients' homes for remote caregiver visits.

We’ve leveraged our 5G technologies in robotics, sensors, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), and video monitoring. We’ve sharpened our focus on accelerating product development in fast-growing markets such as the IoT. We’ve created Innovation Centers to work with product and software developers to embed our network capabilities in a new generation of healthcare solutions and 5G Labs to encourage local innovators to rethink what is possible in a 5G world.
